The Official Resear​ch Journal of Pateros Technological College (PTC)

As an institution of higher learning, PTC adheres to the advocacy of the Commission on Higher Education to prioritize not only instruction but research as well. The academic publication is dedicated to collating relevant intellectual activities of the colleges’ administrative, educational, and student body.

PTC recognizes research as an essential component of education. The three-fold functions of education include Research, Instructions, and Extension. While most tertiary institutions center their concerns on instruction, research must be given equal priority; after all, innovations root in the research outcome. Several situations are brought to people's awareness in authority and those with the know-how through this intellectual activity. The results, recommendations, and projections of this endeavour are bases for finding ways to solve problems, address concerns, or develop innovative approaches to improve something already in existence. The results of research translate to improved ways of doing things; thus, improving the beneficiaries' practices of life.

The MALLARD is born to become the repository of the intellectual outputs of the PTC community. The contents of The Mallard are works of faculty members and students who collaborated with their mentors in preparing their research works. It is hoped that this publication will inspire the administrative and academic members of the college to embark on research activities in their field of work. With optimism, it is expected that the spectrum of this intellectual undertaking shall continue to flourish from this The MALLARD issues until all the time that PTC remains to exist as an academic institution.
